The 9/12 Project - About You

It is your responsibility: to be a leader in your marriage, family, and community through personal classical education, preparedness for you and your family, personal sacrifice and public virtue, and with a firm reliance on Divine Providence.

If you have been part of this movement for anytime, you have felt something. The feeling you recognize in the pit of your soul – as you look at the others involved around you and see what you are becoming – you are witnessing the beginnings of greatness. You are the statesmen and leaders that will arise when called upon. You will be the new leaders in your homes, your churches, your community, and possibly your nation. You are forging a path – not only for you – but the next generation. What may be simple or humble to those looking in, is powerful…and truly the beginnings of greatness!

This movement has never been about us, but about you. It has never been about politicians or politics, but personal responsibility and principles. These are the principles which forged leaders and founded this great nation and when practiced and embraced today when called will bring forth great leaders once again.

These foundational principles we encourage and believe lead to Self-Governing Leaders are:

Liber (Self-Education) Classically these were the men and women that could read and write and were admired for their original and intellectual thought. This is not being taught facts, just giving you information, or telling you what to think but instead embracing classical thought, providing foundations for you to explore on your own, and learning once again how to think. (This looks like book clubs, self reading list, leadership education seminars, and other personal development) Read More..

Georgics (Self-Reliance) These were the people that worked the earth and provided for themselves and families from their own efforts. It is the spirit of looking at what you need to do instead of what others need to do for you. It is being prepared for worst and the working for the best. It is not waiting but taking responsibility and doing. (This looks like preparedness training, food storage, financial independence, and other personal independence) Read More..

Virtue (Self-Sacrifice) We pledge our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor; this is public virtue. This is the willingness for principle to give or lose everything. It is the motivation to give of oneself and give back to others in need. This leads to virtuous marriages, parents, and lives. This is the fruits of what someone truly believes in their heart and faith. (This looks like Charity, public service, community readiness, and other personal merit) Read More..

Divine Providence (Self-Depravity) Although the two previous sets of words may appear to be opposite the truth is that the understanding of one leads to the firm reliance of the other. Classical men and women of faith believed this and trusted God. They trusted God for their virtue, because apart from Him they had none; they trusted him for what He provided, because apart from Him they could do nothing. This is the belief and faith in God and hope and reliance on Him; because apart from Him there is no hope within ourselves. (This looks like Faith, Hope, Charity, and other personal doctrines) Read More..
