Kentucky Disaster Relief

Our thoughts and prayers are with those that have been devastated by the tornados. We have had many people wanting to help and groups reaching out to us asking what they can do. The 9-12 project with its people are always willing to help and being a social welfare organization we pride ourselves in charity and helping the community. Right now we will defer to the first responders and the immediate needs of the people hardest hit, remaining in prayer for them, but are getting prepared to start our new beginnings as second responders during disasters and crisis's.

IMPORTANT: before making plans to travel to these areas to assist, please contact local responders first. While the desire to help in this way is admirable, often well-meaning outsiders can actually get in the way of the relief efforts.

What can you do:
Our Friends of the Central Texas 9/12 Project have reached out to help. Kentucky 9/12 Project will be working with Central Texas 9/12 Project to help coordinate the second round of assistant to people in need throughout Kentucky after these storms. They had developed this program for use during their devastating wildfires last year and reached out to us to help now in our time of crisis.

So often after the media has left, the first responders have stabilized the situation, the real work begins. Think of this as the second responders and neighbors helping neighbors. It will soon be time to roll up your shelves and get to work; please go to the Atlas Collation and jump in!! We will be using this tool to help coordinate efforts throughout the state and assist people in need with people that want to help.

IF YOU ARE IN NEED: please go to the site and submit a report or send us an e-mail. Please give as much detail as possible. This can be as simple a request as assistance to help clear debris or other needs.

IF YOU ALREADY COORDINATING EFFORTS: Please let us know so we can point people in your direction and identify what you are doing. Please go to the site and submit a report stating where you are and what you are doing or send us an e-mail. We do not want to duplicate efforts where at all possible but more so allow others to step up and fill in the gaps as needs arise.

IF YOU WANT TO HELP: The human resource is the most precise resource they need. If you would like to help please go to the site and submit a report with where you are and what you may be able to do, or send us an e-mail. Teams will be coordinated or we may be able to direct you to groups near you that are already helping in relief efforts.
