9/12 March on Washington DC - Schedule

This landmark event is approaching quick and this is sure to be a truly historical and a massive march on Washington D.C. on September 12, 2009 at the U.S. Capitol. We will be joining and partnering with hundreds of other 9/12 groups from around the country along with dozens of other like-minded grassroots organizations.

Here is an updated schedule for those traveling to DC with us from Kentucky. There is actually a lot more going on for 3 days but we will only be participating in the events on 9/12. For a complete list of events go to a List of complete schedule of tentative events

KY912 Schedule:
Friday, 9-11
Depart Lexington at 4:00am (leaving from Griffin Gate Marriot off Newtown Pike)
Make a brief stop in Ashland (junction of I-64 and KY23) to pick up members from Eastern Kentucky
Arrive in Washington DC at approx 4:00pm
8:00pm - Midnight: *Reception Event with other 9/12 groups from around the nation (tentative)

Saturday, 9-12
8:00am Meet at the Holiday Inn Capitol and walk to Freedom Plaza (**come in your KY912 shirts and hats)
9:30am Meet with others at Freedom Plaza (Music and speakers)
11:30am Begin March to Capitol
1:00pm Rally at West Front of the U.S. Capitol

(For those with health concerns there is a transport direct to the Capitol)

Sunday, 9-13
Depart Washington DC at 10:00am
Make stop back in Ashland to drop of passengers
Arrive back in Lexington at approx 8:00pm

** The reception on 9/11 is still tentative and details are being worked out but if you may want to attend the reception it is as of now at the Holiday Inn capitol and begins at 7:00pm. There is a cost for going that we are trying to get taken care of either through donations or a sponsor. We will have speakers but all are tentative as well and none have been confirmed. **Everyone going on the buses will receive a FREE 9/12 shirt, hat and other donated items so we can show we are proud to represent the Commonwealth and proud to be a 9/12er. If you are driving or flying to DC and you want a souvenir KY9/12 Shirt, Hat, or protest wavier there is a limited number available please go to the 9/12 Store
