Vacation Liberty School - Louisville Style

Louisville 9/12 will be doing their own version of a Vacation Liberty School that will be held Aug. 13-16 from 6-8 pm at Tom Sawyer Park and will offer children and parents an opportunity to step back in time, take on the identity of Mayflower passengers, and relive some of the experiences of early American settlers.

This would be a great opportunity for you to pitch in to help educate yourself and young people about American history and the values on which our country was founded. Bill Vetter has asked for the following help:

1. One or two people to help publicize the event. If you are active on Facebook or other social media or could post flyers at churches and public places, please consider volunteering.
2. Four men to portray some of the historical characters who will be part of the skits in the program. You will not have to memorize any lines but will need to become familiar with the historical character and be able to help lead and join in the discussions. All information will be provided.
3. A person to help sign in the participants each evening.
4. One or more people to help the participants with an activity while the others are arriving before the program begins.
5. Metal can tops from frozen food cans. They will need to be tops that do not have sharp edges.
6. Several hammers. Please put your name on the hammers and they will be returned.

If you can help with any of these things, please contact Bill Vetter at wh.vetter@insightbb.com
