Restoring Honor Rally - FAQ

Less than 2 weeks from our historic trip to DC and the first steps to restore honor and restore our nation. Here are so general information and answers to some questions:

- 9/12 Project Bus Riders
Those travel with us on the buses due to anticipated traffic and the need to have everyone in DC by 5:00pm we will be departing at 4:00am on Friday

We will leave from the Marriott Griffin Gate, Newton Pike, Lexington. Yes they are permitting us to park there and it is lighted and they have security. Please be courteous to patrons of the hotel and park at the lower end of the lot near Denny’s

Upon arrival in Washington the coaches will make stops at the hotels where KY 912 has room blocks. Those hotels are: Hilton Garden Inn, Westin, and Marriott Residence Inn. If you are staying at another hotel we will provide metro maps to get you to your destination.

- 9/12 Project Reception
Please print out your tickets and bring with you to save time. If you do not have them we do have a complete list and we can still check you in at the door with out problems.

We will begin allowing people in at 5:30pm. The content of the reception will begin at 6:30pm.

We will not permit people with oversize bags. No walkups and you must be registered prior to this event. There will be security present for your protection

If you are traveling separately and planning to try to get tickets to Glenn’s event at the Kennedy Center as well, we have coordinated the two events ahead of time that you can do both.

- Glenn’s event at the Kennedy Center
This will be an inspiring look at the role faith played in the founding of America and the role it will play again in its destiny. The audience for the event will be overwhelmingly made up of pastors, ministers and clergy: a modern day Black Robe Regimen. Tickets will be made available to the general public at no cost.

Information: http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/44014/

Tickets will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Tickets will be made available beginning at 10:00AM on Friday, August 27th in the Hall of Nations at the Kennedy Center. All tickets are free, reserved tickets. Every person (all ages!) is required to have a ticket. Limit 2 tickets per person, no exceptions. Each person must present their own ticket in order to gain access to the event

- 8/28 Restoring Honor Rally
The event stage will be located on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. Several video screens and sound towers will be placed along the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and on the grounds of the Washington Monument. Remember that these monuments are located in a National Park and are open to the public as well as attendees of our event. Safety for all is our primary concern so please follow all rules posted and be respectful of all in attendance.

The event will begin at 10:00am and go to 1:00pm. There will be a concert free of charge immediately following at the same location for any that want to stay. It is advised that you show up at least a couple of hours early due to crowds.

We are expected over 1 million people in attendance and we have reserved over 1 ½ mile of national grounds for this event. Be prepared

With KY9/12 members in 3 separate hotels, other in multiple other hotels around DC, and with other people driving in or flying logistically with the number of people we have and the massive crowd expected we will not be able to coordinate everyone in a single area or reserve areas for our group. If you do want to find us number to use that weekend will be 859-983-5190 / 859-227-3474 / 859-396-2318

We will try to go to the event by hotel together walking to the event and via the metro. We will be leaving at 7:30am from each of the various locations if you want to travel to the event with the group.

Metro stations open at 7:00 am on weekends. The closest Metro stations to the Lincoln Memorial are Foggy Bottom-GWU, Federal Triangle and Smithsonian on the Orange and Blue lines and Metro Center on the Red Line. The walking distance from there is approx 1 mile.

Taxis will be very hard to find because of the volume of people coming into the city for this event. Taxis will be allowed to drop only as close as the police grant vehicle access to the site, and that is unknown at this time. You might have to walk a distance so be prepared.

- What to bring
You can bring small umbrellas, bottled water (plastic bottles only please), bag lunches, snacks, lawn chairs, cameras, blankets, small coolers, backpacks, and flags. Also, we advise that you bring hats and sunscreen.

We expect it to be very hot and humid so please bring sunscreen, water and wear comfortable, lightweight clothes
