Vacation Liberty School

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: KY 9/12 announces a brand new and exciting program “Vacation Liberty School” for children, ages 10-15 coming to your Town this summer. Experience the origin, nature and benefits of liberty based on Faith, Hope and Charity.

What started as an idea from Sean of the Owensboro Liberty Book Club; grew over night and already gained national exposure. Since then Lisa Abler and a crew of dedicated volunteers have put together an absolute amazing curriculum in a short time giving you everything you would need to run a (VLS) of your very own in your community.

Vacation Liberty School is set up as a week long experience for 2 ½ hours a day for children entering the 4th or 5th grade through 10th grade. The lengths of the secessions or programs can vary though depending on you. (VLS) was modeled after familiar vacation bible school format but as we said may be modified to fit your specific needs, resources, or schedule.

The very first (VLS) will be July 12th to 16th from 6:00 to 8:30pm at Gano Baptist Church, Georgetown, KY with a few more in the Lexington area the weeks following. But don’t wait for us; if you would like to have one in your community we would love to provide you what you would need. 9/12 project was founded on personal responsibility and we need your help and personal effort to organize and hold a (VLS) in your area to reach and educate the future George Washington’s.

To start your own there are 3 simple steps:

~ Organize a week or dates and location. We have found MANY churches very receptive and desiring to help. Remember also that summer is already 5% over and will go quick so get something on the calendar soon.

~ Find a few patriots or volunteers to help and start planning using the information outlined at (VLS) Curriculum. You will need about 2 adults and 1 per (12 -15) kids you estimate in attendance. Included on the website is a list of recommended materials and outlines for each day.

~ Finally let us help you get the word out. We have pre designed press releases, flyers, and other materials. In addition we can send out messages to of 9/12 members in your area, and post on the web and facebook.

Like all things we want you to know that you are not alone. Although we can not be at every (VLS) in the state and now nation we will offer support, suggestions, and answer questions. To help we have an excellent resource page on the attendvls.org website with materials from other groups, research items, and information. More importantly never feel like you are going at this blind; do not hesitate to call or e-mail us. Finally we strongly encourage anyone that is interested if you can to attend an evening of an upcoming VLS that is already planned you will find it energizing, inspirational, and helpful.

I know of multiple (VLS) already on the calendar in Florida and Ohio; let’s not let the origin of this fantastic program (Kentucky) slip behind. I would love to see multiple (VLS) in churches and community centers all over Kentucky each week on this summer. Jump on board and e-mail us with any questions ewilson1776@yahoo.com or Lisa Abler jeffnlisaky@roadrunner.com
