Get to know those that work for you: You may think that our elected officials are not listening to us and act contrary to what we want, but I can ensure you they hear us and they do pay attention. They love their job and when the people who control their job begin to overwhelm them with what they want, they take notice. Take time to get to know and build relationships with elected officials. More importantly get to know those that want to represent you as well. Go to candidate forums, vet the ones that are running for office, and make an educated vote based on principle not emotion or what the party says you need to do.
