When did it become alright to give up our rights to Politian’s in Washington DC that we did not elect and that do not represent us? When did it become okay for the federal government to usurp the powers of the states and decide what is best for the people of Kentucky? What is most confusing to me is when did the decision of who knows best for Kentucky become a partisan issue?

This is not a republican or democrat issue, but a state issue and a people issue. This is about standing up for the citizens of this great Commonwealth and saying that Kentucky Knows Best. It is saying what is already said but making it a public statement that between Washington DC and our elected representatives here in Kentucky that Kentucky knows best. It is on decisions on Coal, Energy, Agriculture, School Choice, Welfare, spending our states budget, and protecting and providing for the people of Kentucky that Kentucky knows best.

Sadly this is becoming a political issue and HCR10, the Kentucky State Sovereignty Resolution is being buried in committee and one person is holding this up and threatening not letting this be heard. Despite overwhelming support and bi-partisan actions urging the release of this resolution out of committee, it has failed to have any hearing or vote. Not hearing or voting on this resolution is the equivalent of saying that our elect representatives believe that Washington DC knows what is best for us.

We must stand again and send a statement to our federal government that this State has rights and we know what is best for us. We have a history of standing up for our sovereignty, we have a pride in fighting for our rights, and we have a duty to the next generation and everyone in this Commonwealth to protect our rights and be part of this growing movement to re-affirm are civil liberties stated in our States constitution and enumerated in the Tenth Amendment of the United States Constitution. Let our representatives know that we are watching and we want HCR10 to be heard.
